Creating Ballots
Step 1
This is the voting instance you want to have happen in a single moment. We recommend grouping your ballots by areas (e.g. District Advisory Board).
Ballot Name is the public facing name of your ballot.
Validating Voters
There are two options to validate your votes: Access Code and Delegate ID.
Access Code is a generic code you specify that is used for anyone who wants to cast a vote. This allows the vote to be completely anonymous and untrackable. We cannot ensure someone isn't voting multiple times or that they are allowed to vote. You would project the code on the screen or say it and everyone would use the same access code.
Delegate ID is a unique ID generated for each voter that contains two letters and four numbrs (e.g. XL1923). This code is used to verify they have permission to vote, are allowed to vote on this ballot (NMI Delegate on NMI Ballot) and have not already voted. This vote is still anonymous. You will not be able to match their vote with the voeter ID to their name.
If you select the Delegate ID option, you will choose which list to validate against (Assembly, NMI, NDI, or NYI).
Step 2
Once you have created your ballot, you can add questions. If you have more than three questions to add, submit this step multiple times.
e.g. District Advisory Board Elder
Question Types
SINGLE CANDIDATE Vote for one of the candidates from the list. This also has an "other" option available for an open nomination ballot.
This is a great tool to use in your nominating committees. Create a nomination ballot and share the ballot link via Zoom or use your District App and have your committee submit names through the open nomination ballot.
MULTIPLE CANDIDATE Vote for multiple people in one vote (e.g. 3 of the 12). Perfect for General Assembly Delegates or Committee Elections. You will specify what you want the Limit set to.
YES/NO BALLOT No candidates displayed, just a Yes or No option available. (e.g. NMI Council - Mary, Mike, and Andy).
Single and Multiple candidate types will have a sort-order specified. You can sort by the order they are entered, their first name, last name (second word in name), or random (randomized each time the ballot is viewed).
Step 3
Add your candidates to each question. If you have a candidate on mulitple ballots, be sure to use the same spelling of their name for each question to prevent duplicates in the next steps.
If you have more than four candidates to add, submit this step multiple times.
Step 4
This table populates the Candidate Biographies and Photos. If the candidate is a pastor in your contacts with a picture, it will automatically pull that photo in.
This table will exist from year to year, so if a candiate is already in the system, their bio and picture will still remain. If a candidate is on multiple ballots, they will only display once in step 4.
Images shouid be a JPEG, JPG, or PNG file and under 1 mb.
